So according to reports, Johnny Depp, 51, is getting ready to marry his girlfriend, Amber Heard, 28, next weekend on his private Bahamian Island. According to Page Six, the wedding will hold over the weekend of February 7-8 and about 50 guests have been invited to the wedding. Johnny began officially dating Amber Heard in 2012, a few weeks after he announced his separation from French actress and singer Vanessa Paradis, the mother of his two children. Johnny was with Vanessa for 14 years and they had two children together but he never gave her a ring. During an interview in 2009, Vanessa said she'd never been married, that it was something she was looking forward to one day...hopefully with the father of her children. Johnny later did an interview saying he'd been married once and now understands you don't need a paper to define your relationship with someone you love, so it wasn't something he was eager to do again. So two years after dating Amber, he's now ready to try marriage for a second time, but not with a woman who was with him for 14 years. Men biko, oya explain how you people reason...:-)

Gregory Hughes pictured very emotional as he carried his son's coffin into his funeral on December 3rd. Phil Hughes died on November 27th two days after he was struck in the back of the neck by a ball during a cricket game in Sydney, Australia. He died just three days to his 26th birthday. The funeral was attended by over 1,000 people including many national and sporting dignitaries as well as the Prime Minister of Australia, Tony Abbott. It was also broadcast live on Australian TV.

The kids were crying . . . it was crazy." Expect huge ratings when the show airs in the next couple of months. The producers, who did NOT script the scene - are furiously editing trailers of the event - so that they can "leak" it onto the internet. Who believes this?

Boko Haram men attack cement factory in Gombe, steal vehicles

Boko Haram militants today raided a cement facility owned by French group Lafarge, stealing some vehicles. According to one Samail Adnan a resident of Ashaka town who spoke with AFP, the sect members arrived their town shouting and shooting sporadically "The gunmen kept shouting 'Allahu Akbar' and firing guns haphazardly. They went into the cement factory and took away some vehicles,"  The militants who arrived the town around 7am through Bajoga, raided banks, burnt down a police station and some government buildings. The military was able to repel their attacks in Bajoga, pushing them to Ashaka where they gained entrance into the cement factory and stole some vehicles.

Season of Surprise; Pleasant Surprises Await University Dons

As part of its ongoing Season of Surprises, MTN has unveiled another surprise package that is targeted at University dons. This is inspired from its advert currently running on television stations across the country, where some old students appreciated their former lecturer with a surprise birthday party. The reality of the advert is set to be brought alive as MTN iscalling on Nigerian students in higher institutions of learning to nominate any of their Professors who deserve a pleasant surprise. In this initiative tagged ‘Surprise your Professor’, University students within the country are expected to make their nominations by texting [Sender’s Name – Twitter handle -School – Professor – Department] to 5005 free of charge.  According to a press release issued by MTN, after proper scrutiny and deliberations via laid down criteria, some of the nominated Professors will be selected to receive a pleasant surprise from MTN. The surprise packages will be unveiled to the chosen Professors at their various campuses, while the top3 nominators amongst the students will also be chosen for another pleasant surprise package. Pleasant surprise moments have already been witnessed in major university campuses within the country, where lucky students have received pleasant surprise packages from MTN. Speaking on this development, the Chief Marketing Officer, MTN Nigeria, Mr. Bayo Adekanmbi said “as a brand that believes in an all-inclusive reward system, it is not enough to surprise university students without a corresponding or even bigger surprise package for their teachers who mould them and shape their lives. It is against this background that MTN is ensuring that the on-going Surprise campaign is taking this new turn”.

A 24 year old woman named Li Zhenghua, was discovered by a shocked nurse trying to eat her baby days after he was born at a local hospital in China. The nurse saw her eating the infant's arm and as she made to rescue the infant, the crazed mum refused to let the baby go. The nurse immediately raised an alarm and called other hospital staff who helped to rescue the baby. According to local media reports, the attack happened at a hospital in the city of Shenzhen in China’s Guangdong Province. The woman had been found on the streets heavily pregnant and in labour..

The homeless woman, suspected to be mentally unstable, was taken to the hospital where she gave birth and attempted to eat her baby. A hospital spokesman spoke to Chinese media; "It was really shocking, the arm was badly damaged and suffered not only heavy bruising but bleeding as a result of the bite. Fortunately, doctors managed to insert something to stop her closing her teeth and then levered her jaws apart. After that they gave her a sedative and took the baby to a secure location."

Authorities said the woman's mother-in-law had thrown her out on the streets despite being pregnant after she started acting mental at home. They say they are trying to find out why the new mum tried to eat her baby. The baby has since been taken into the care of the government.

Officer who shot unarmed teen resigns from Ferguson police force

Darren Wilson, the officer who shot and killed unarmed teen Michael Brown has resigned from the Ferguson Police force. Wilson resigned yesterday November 29th, 5 days after a grand jury decided not to indict him in the fatal shooting of Brown. Though he has been on administrative leave since the incident on August 9th. ABC News obtained a copy of Wilson's letter of resignation. See it after the cut... The letter reads: "I, Darren Wilson, hereby resign my commission as a police officer with the City of Ferguson effective immediately. I have been told that my continued employment may put the residents and police officers of the City of Ferguson at risk, which is a circumstance that I cannot allow. For obvious reasons, I wanted to wait until the grand jury made their decision before I officially made my decision to resign. It was my hope to continue in police work, but the safety of other police officers and the community are of paramount importance to me. It is my hope that my resignation will allow the community to heal. I would like to thank all of my supporters and fellow officers throughout this process."

Ify gave birth at 7.29pm at Northside Hospital Atlanta, Georgia, yesterday Saturday Nov. 29th. Mother and daughter are doing great. The little bundle of joy has been named Princess Emma Adanna Okoye.
