Nigerian Law School students release statement, say their DA lied
Some students of the Nigerian Law School have responded to the statements made by the Director of Administration of the Law School yesterday (read here), calling it appalling, contradictory and a blatant lie. They have written to explain some facts that they say are easily evidenced by the law school records. Find the statement below...
The Nigerian Law School has issued a statement in the media claiming that the mass failure of the 2014 results is a lie. It is so unfortunate that an institution like the Nigerian Law School and its new acting DG cannot even stand by their actions and tell the truth.
The Nigerian law school is meant to be an institution that breeds future legal practitioners and Judges of this great country. The mass failure of 5800 students is no joke and cannot be kept hidden.
There are some students that their whole community or villages had to pull their resources together before paying their tuition fees. Some students parents had to sacrifice and forfeit money they have been saving to maintain their household only so one child in the family can get an opportunity to become a lawyer while others had to endulge in hard labour to pay the fees of the Nigerian Law School which cost 365,000 Naira.
The new acting DG called ONADEKO and his puppet that have been lying in the media should know that the more they lie, the stronger it will make the student who's lives have been stolen to stand up against such tyranny and oppression. We live in an age of multiple social media networks and an age with a plethora of global communication.
It is written in the article that only 57.01% of students passed and in the same article it is written that only 1000 students failed. As you can see that makes absolutely no sense. It is written in the article that 5841 regular students wrote this years exam. It can also be easily checked that way more than 5841 regular students took the exam. By records given by the secretary of the law school of Abuja, over 7000 students throughout all the campuses with 2000 students writing the exam in the law school in Abuja wrote the bar 2 exam and only 1200 are being called to bar with 800 students given conditional passes.
These are facts that can easily be obtained by the law school as it can be given by just inquiring at the Abuja campus. Even if 1335 students were resitting exams with only 88 people passing, that would mean 5665 students failed. This is something that has never happened in the history of any law school in any country. If 5665 students who took the exam for the first time failed an exam that they paid over 300,000 Naira for then it is blatantly obvious that there is a problem with the institution and not the students.
It's acceptable that some students do not take the exam seriously enough, but it is ridiculous to say that 5665 students which excludes the resit students were not up to standard.
The students will not relent nor tolerate Onadeko's actions because he can't steal peoples lives and come out in the media with a blatant lie due to his incapacity to handle the affairs of the Nigerian law school. He has failed as a leader and a legal practitioner due to his actions. If the the students of the Nigerian law school cannot rise up and defend themselves and the results that has been stolen from them, how can they come out and defend people in the society that have been unlawfully affected in different ways.
The mass failure of the 2014 results is a test to the Nigerian law students and they have been charged with the duty of defending themselves and the next set of students after them. If the DG claims that the students are lying, then let him publish the results in newspapers for everyone to see. The students should rely in the capability, integrity and judgement of institutions which the efficacy of their authority supersedes that of the Nigeria Law School such as the National Assembly and the Body of Benchers.
Nigeria has it's problems, yes! But we have not lost hope in the integrity of all our institutions. They should continue striving for what is right until a proper investigation has been conducted which we believe will reveal the truth about the situation. Rumor has it that the DG called ONADEKO marked some of the answer scripts himself.
If the Judiciary, Body of Benchers and the National Assembly does not investigate the mass failure of the 2014 Law School results will only lead to the conclusion that Nigeria and it's institutions of knowledge are nothing but play grounds of the heads of institutions who will do what they want, when they want.
The Judiciary and the National Assembly are the ordinary persons institution of hope. If they don't investigate this foul play under the leadership of ONADEKO as acting DG of the Nigerian Law School and penalize him ,then the Executive arm of government will have to intervene and play it's role as the protectors of the nations students, youths and institutions in general.

2015 Elections: Rivers APC Warns President Goodluck Jonathan Not To Re-Contest
The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has advised President Goodluck Jonathan against re-contesting in the 2015 Elections as he will lose should he decide to go ahead.
President Goodluck Jonathan
The Rivers state chapter of the APC who warned President Goodluck Jonathan against being deceived into re-contesting in the coming elections made this known in a statement signed by its chairman, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya.
“The handwriting is already on the wall for President Jonathan in view of the calibre of leaders and unprecedented masses that attended the historic declaration of General Muhammadu Buhari to contest the 2015 presidential election. It has therefore become imperative for President Jonathan to start writing his handover notes as his game is up.”
Making reference to a statement made by President Goodluck Jonathan about running for second term saying: “In deciding on an appropriate response to such calls, I will place the greater interests of national harmony, cohesion, unity, security, political stability, progress, equity, justice and fairness above any personal ambition or sectional agenda“.
The party stated that the statement shows that the President Jonathan is scared and being reluctant to accept the calls to run, while urging the President to squash any thoughts of him running saying:
“As he knows that his contesting will not be in the greatest interest of national harmony. He must, therefore, perish the thought if he really loves Nigeria and wishes to promote the greatest interest of national harmony.”
It warned that should he however succumb to the pressure of haters of Nigeria to contest the 2015 election, he should prepare to be the first sitting President to lose a general election since there is no basis whatsoever for him to win any election again as his record card shows that he is a failure. “Today, Nigeria has never had it so bad as the present leadership under Jonathan has inflicted unimaginable suffering on Nigerians,” APC Rivers said.recently the
Meanwhile it will be recalled just recently the Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has described the President Goodluck Jonathan administration as an agent of darkness saying:
“Nigerians, however, do not have to continue to wallow in darkness as they have a golden opportunity to vote out this agent of darkness during the 2015 elections and cast their vote for an APC Presidency, which will end this evil covenant with darkness”.
Dear RSB readers: should I marry a man who had three kids with a woman and never married her?
From a female RSB reader
The man I am dating right now was with a woman for 17 years and had three children with her but they never married. He never even proposed to her. We met in April this year shortly after they separated and the reason they separated was because the woman gave him an ultimatum, either he married her or they were over. He chose to leave the relationship but now he wants to marry me. He wants us to have a wedding in December. I was okay with it at first until I received the longest e-mail I've ever read from his children's mother. She explained everything that went down between them and asked me to please reconsider marrying him. She sounded very heartbroken. Should I let him go to return to his family or should I do what he wants and marry him? I'm confused. I love him though but I've been feeling guilty since reading the letter.
Shocking photos: See moment Chinese stepmother whips & kicks a toddler for wetting herself
My goodness! What kind of human beings exist in this world? This is the shocking moment a Chinese stepmother whipped, beat, kicked and stamped on a girl less than 2 years old just because she wet herself...and the brutal beating, which lasted 5 minutes, was caught on tape.
The stepmother whipped the young girl 87 times with a branch, kicked her 14 times and gave her eight slaps to the face. The more the young girl cried, the more the woman screamed and beat her. At one time, the woman kicked the toddler in the leg until she fell. Then grabbed her by the ear, threw her to the floor, slapped her again and used a branch to beat her.
Someone filmed the assault from a widow above the compound and posted it online. Hours after it was posted online, thousands called for the woman's arrest, but the police refused to arrest her, saying there was nothing they could do. Unbelievable. See the photos after the cut...
The toddler cowers against a wall as the woman switches the branch for her hand, striking the girl in the face
Grabbing the child by the ear, the woman throws her on to the floor before continuing her prolonged attack
The woman kicks the child square in the chest, knocking her back as she wails loudly

Vanguard was also told that in a bid to quickly deliver on her parent’s assignment, the girl decided to take a commercial motorcycle to and from the market.
“That was how she boarded the motorcycle piloted by 35-year old Onyekachi Nwankwo, a native of Umunachi, Obowo”, the girl’s father (names withheld) recounted with grief.
The obviously angry father also recalled that soon after Onyekachi picked Ngozi at the entrance of the market, he told the girl that he intended to pick his friend, Chike Njoku, who was waiting for him at the time, at Ekeja Market in Ehume, Obowo.

GTBank Sues Murtala Mohammed’s Son, Court Denies Him Assess To His Accounts
Following a debt recovery suit filed by the authorities of Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) Plc against the son of a former head of state, General Murtala Mohammed identified as Risqua Mohammed and his company, AMG Petroenergy Limited, Justice Saliu Seidu of the Federal High Court in Lagos issued a marevainjunction barring Mohammed from getting access to their money .
This implies that he can not make any transactions in any of his bank accounts until the ban is lifted after the hearing of the case.
According to reports, GTB filed an ex-parte application through its lawyer, Norrison Quakers (SAN) following the alleged refusal of Mohammed and his company to liquidate a multi-million dollars credit facility, despite repeated demands. The bank said on May 18, 2011, it granted two import credit facilities for $40 million to the defendants, with an additional existing term loan of N630 million.
The bank acclaimed that it gave the defendant the facilities for financing the establishment of local letters of credit in favour of the Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas/Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation/Pipeline and Products Marketing Company (NLNG, NNPC/PPMC) and NGL to fund the payment of Gas/Condensate/Naphtha lifted based on allocation to the company by the Federal Government.
According to the bank, the facilities were also used to fund the establishment of letters of credit for the purchase of refined petroleum products from international and local sources for onward supply to Total Plc, Mobil Oil Plc, Exxon Mobil and Total Upstream.
Furthermore, the facilities were meant to contain associated freight and logistics costs, as well as refinancing of the existing debts of the first defendant (AMG Petroenergy Limited).
It was alleged that Mohammed, as the Chairman and Managing Director of the first defendant, took it upon himself to repay the credit facilities of the defendant.
However, as at August 2012, when the tenure of the facilities ended, the promises were not kept.
The GTB lawyer said it was evident from the defendants’ actions that they were not prepared to liquidate the outstanding debt, which stood at N1.365 billion, while interest continues to accrue at the bank’s lending rate.
He said, “The plaintiff cannot allow this flagrant violation of the defendants’ obligations to continue as its depositors’ and shareholders’ funds are at risk.”
The bank assured to underwrite that the defendants wouldnt have made the order.
Meanwhile, the judge adjourned the case till November 3, 2014 for further hearing.
